Fishing
Fishing Report | October 11, 2024
Fall fishing has been tremendous. The trout fishing just keeps getting better and better. With the current water temps and the high levels of dissolved oxygen the trout are just about everywhere. Folks are doing well from shore with powerbait, nightcrawlers, and even kastmasters. If you got access to a boat I would be trolling or drifting. Flicker shad, needlefish, and rapalas are the ticket on the slow troll. Unfortunately, the city had to cancel the Troutfest due to the fire but that’s just more reason to get out there and get some rainbows on the boat.
Fall bass fishing has also been great with smallies and largemouth being caught. With the water temps dropping they will be heading from deeper waters to shallower waters to feed. So fishing the points of bays is a great place to find them. Some great fall baits are lipless crankbaits, swimbaits, and senko worms.
The panfish are doing the same as the bass so grab a mini jig or some meal worms and fish around the docks or any other cover.
Fall fishing is some of the best fishing so get out there while you can.

Tip Of The Week!
When fishing for warm water species in the fall start deep and work your way shallower until you find the fish.
