Mission Statement:
The Mission of the Big Bear Municipal Water District is to Maintain Big Bear Lake for Recreation and Wildlife.

Purpose: The Big Bear Municipal Water District is a Special District of California, created by popular vote in 1964 for the sole purpose of managing Big Bear Lake. Some of our areas of focus include: safety for all lake users, lake habitat creation and maintenance, ensuring excellent water quality, managing lake levels, and the responsible use of public funds to accomplish these goals. The Big Bear Municipal Water District does NOT provide or manage household domestic water services.
